Mary Helen's is a beautiful establishment nestled in the countryside just outside the town of Batesville, Indiana, located just minutes off interstate I-74 between the cities of Cincinnati and Indianapolis. The house is constructed of cypress logs from the swamps of Florida and a variety of native oak trees right off the property. You'll find high vaulted ceilings and exposed oak beams throughout the house accompanied by beautiful decor. If you are seeking lodging for a few nights, a romantic getaway or just need peaceful time for reflection, then look no further... we are that destination. You will find an intimate atmosphere filled with beautiful scenery and delicious food. We serve as a bed & breakfast and offer in house dining for group parties and special occasions. Our private dinner is a unique experience served at a leisurely pace leaving ample time between courses to enjoy great food and good conversation in a cozy environment.
We are certain you will find our setting most appealing and tranquil. We are located on 3 acres of professionally landscaped ground. The two of you and this wonderful place have wrapped their arms around us. Thank you so much for home away from home. Our trip to this area was already special because of celebrating the marriage of our grandson and his bride. Then the two of you were “the icing on the cake.”
We were seeking a quiet, special place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Your B & B met our expectations and more! We enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the goldfish and enjoying the flowers, and the calming pond. As we pulled up the driveway, I was reminded of a Thomas Kincade painting. Cindy made us feel extremely special with an “anniversary fruit & cheese tray and their waffles were the best we’ve ever had. It was comforting & encouraging to have Christian and inspirational materials in the room and throughout the home. Thank you for a lovely time and making our 25th Anniversary memorable and special. God’s blessings.
Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing, peaceful, beautiful weekend at your bed & breakfast. What a great place to rejuvenate! The fall in this area is beautiful, especially in your little slice of heaven. Your hospitality is second to none and your omelets are worth coming back for!
Thanks so much for making this a special visit for us. We had a wonderful time. Your home is absolutely beautiful! Love the pond and the landscaping and your home is very welcoming. You can tell a lot of work goes into it, but it seems to be a labor of love. I’m sitting by the pond writing this enjoying all the birds and wild life. The food was delicious and so beautifully presented. We looked forward to breakfast each morning.
Words can’t describe or will never do justice the beauty, serenity, hospitality ect. that you provide to your guests. May God bless you abundantly for your hard work and generosity. You have a gift that many could only dream of. We look forward to our next visit.
Out of the 66 bed and breakfasts we have stayed in, Mary Helen’s is at the top our list. I have read the previous comments in this journal, and can only say “ditto” to all the beautiful reviews you have been given.
Thank you for making our 45th anniversary a very special getaway. Your home is so beautiful inside and out. We have been going to bed & breakfasts for about 20 yrs. And yours ranks #1. It offered such peacefulness, but most of all your gracious hospitality was outstanding. We want to come back for dinner and are excited to share this experience with others.
Another amazing breakfast nestled among the Christmas decorations! The egg casserole was part of a magnificent breakfast feast. How blessed we continue to be here, capturing an early Spirit of Christmas and taking in all things beautiful. So many reasons to come frequently to Mary Helen’s: interior peace, finding heaven on earth, knowing serenity, communicating with some of God’s most perfect people, enjoying happiness and relaxation, refreshing ourselves, enjoying out of this world meals.
This was our first experience at a B & B, and we enjoyed every minute of it! From the gorgeous “WOW” factor view coming down the drive. The warm welcome from Cindy, the peaceful serene, well groomed grounds to the excellent breakfast. We were in awe of this place! The comfort and beauty we experienced at this B & B sets the bar high for any others we may visit in the future. We are making plans to come back, SOON. Thank you Jim & Cindy, for opening your home to share this with us. Above & beyond our expectations! God bless you both.
Our second time with our same friends, Michael & Patty to a little piece of heaven. It is so beautiful and calming. You are fantastic hosts making us feel so comfortable. The food is unbelievable. Yumm so good. Love what you have done to Dewey’s Outpost. Look forward to another stay someday.
